Black Heart Homes (BHH) is a Black queer woman-owned, community-focused real estate company rooted in Baltimore and serving Maryland and the surrounding region.
Founded in January 2021 by Dorian and DJ Adams-Walker, BHH was built with purpose. Our mission is simple and serious: fight blight, protect investments, and expand access to safe, well-managed, fairly priced housing.
What started as a boutique short-term rental brand quickly grew into a full-service property management company serving long-term renters, homeowners, and real estate investors. Through the pandemic and beyond, we built our business on trust, structure, and care. Today, we manage residential portfolios across Maryland with a focus on preservation, stabilization, and neighborhood growth.
We believe strong communities start with strong housing. That means protecting owners’ assets, supporting tenants with dignity, and reinvesting in the neighborhoods we serve.

Meet the Founders:

DJ (she/they) is a licensed Maryland REALTOR® and property manager specializing in investment properties and tenant placement. With a deep understanding of Baltimore’s housing market, DJ helps owners maximize performance while ensuring tenants are placed in homes that truly fit their lives.
DJ leads Black Heart Homes with a heart-first, home-focused approach grounded in professionalism, accountability, and real results.
Dorian - (she/her) Co-Founder & Mortgage Loan Officer, Ziffy Mortgage
Dorian is an experienced mortgage loan officer specializing in investor lending and portfolio strategy. Her financial expertise helps clients structure deals, optimize cash flow, and protect their long-term assets.
Her background in process management ensures BHH operates with efficiency, transparency, and precision.
